I am back with expanded adventures

Wow! These last two years have involved a lot of Soul searching and trying to find my place in this world. I had been feeling like there is something I need to do to contribute in this world and do with my life. I knew my long term goal for Bee Zen was to become a healing center, but how? I set a goal that by the time I was 50 Bee Zen would be up and running. Well, I still have a ways to go before 50 years old, but Bee Zen is starting to come together! Yay!!!

In the last two years I have added to my Certified Zentangle® Teacher status. In September 2015 I became a SoulCollage® Facilitator. SoulCollage® is a beautiful process of creating cards based on YOU and your life and journaling with them to go deeper in discovering who you are. I also received my Reiki III certificate in May 2016.

I still felt restless and kept feeling drawn to something more. I stumbled across Life Coaching and the restlessness settled. I found the Mindfulness School of Coaching and should have my Mindfulness and Wellness Coaching Certificate in August 2017. Everything seems to be falling into place. Bee Zen is finally coming to fruition: Learning to find peace within yourself through Nature and Creativity. Writing that and hearing that makes my heart sing :)

If anyone has any interest in any of the above, please feel free to contact me. I would love to connect with you.

Peace and Love,

Hey I am somewhat able to get back into my blog since my computer crashed months ago! Still don't have all of it, but I can hopefully post.

At the end of April I went to Tangle U 2014 in Portland, Maine. What a great time that was!!! So much inspiration from so many wonderful CZT's all around the world. Elaine and Sadelle did a fantastic job organizing the event.

Here are a few pictures from the last few months:

The above picture was created at Tangle U. Sandy Steen Bartholomew taught this lesson. We used Styrofoam to etch a design into (we all received a beautiful stencil in our kits to use - mine was the lizard :) ). Then we inked them and stamped them onto paper. Used the moon light gelly rolls from Sakura for the coloring.

This ZIA (above) was done on tracing paper using a stained glass pattern from Pinterest (At the moment I don't have who the pattern was created by). After it was complete it was flipped over and colored in using Prisma colored pencils to add a light tinting to the drawing. Also used Slicci Gold pen to add gold to the blanket.

And these two were done in the last month on Bristol Paper and of course the Sakura Micron pens :)

Thanks for visiting!

New Tangle - Beloved

Hi everyone! My October vacation didn't go as planned. Sadly I had to have my bulldog, Bart, put down. He was not doing very well. He kept collapsing and having difficulty breathing, wasn't eating and lost 10 pounds. He had actually collapsed and stopped breathing the night before and when we went to lift him up it started his breathing again. The next morning we made the hardest decision we had to make. Everyday I miss him and I am thankful for the 10 years we got to have with him. His mischievous ways always delighted us and kept us on our toes; he certainly lived up to his name sake of Bart Simpson.

During the last week we got to spend with him he laid with me while I created a new tangle. A week later the tangle was named "Beloved" in memory of Bart.

In these directions you can see a light penciled grid line. You can also create this tangle without the grid to get more freedom. Hope you enjoy it!

Miss you, Bart! <3

Postcard art

So many ideas and so little time... I am looking forward to my vacation in October where I hope to spend the week relaxing and creating. I really think I need to get a list together of ideas I am going to want to play with.

Recently I participated in a Zentangle postcard swap which was a lot of fun. Here are a few of the cards I made:

I also have been having a lot of fun with more portraits:

Wow time flies!

Hi everyone! I can't believe it's been a few months since I have been on this! We are moved into our new home and I am still trying to set up my craft room/office and my husband just installed a new hard drive for my computer, as my other one finally died. Despite all the craziness with moving I have been making a lot of time to Zentangle and experiment with other crafts. Once I get my computer set back up (and find the CD's I need) I will post pictures of recent projects.

The last few days we have been graced with fawns in the yard eating and frolicking. At first we thought it was just twins, but it turns out there are triplets :)

It's hard taking a picture through the screen and I hadn't figured out how to zoom on my new iPhone (I am totally Mac/Apple illiterate). There are 2 on the left and one on the right.

These fawns have come at the perfect time (and maybe it's a sign) as I am now getting ready to settle back down and continue working on my Right Brain Business Plan for the future of Bee Zen. I still haven't found my original notes or images that I started making, but I still have my new logo and motto up next to my desk - at home and at my full time job). The new motto: "Learning to find peace within yourself through nature and creativity." It has been a blessing to be able to watch these 3 for up to an hour at a time while they eat and play.

I hope you are enjoying your summer so far and may it continue to be wonderful...

Diva Challenge #113

This weeks Diva Challenge was called Hip To Be Square. This was a challenge for me without realizing it was at first. I know I tend to lean towards more organic and free flowing tangles rather than linear and grid like. I think I tend to lean more towards the free flow organic tangles because it allows me to monitor my mood, stress level, etc.

Using squares as my string actually brought about a tad bit of "OM MY GOD! This isn't me!" panic attack. I pressed on working with the uncomfortable feeling of rigidness. Deep breaths, relax your muscles, and pretend you are holding a robin's egg; tickle the paper..." I managed to finish in one sitting, especially since it is an ATC, and was fairly relaxed when I was done.

Getting ready to post it and having it sit in front of me while I write this I had to chuckle... no wonder I relaxed... I still chose curvy, flowing tangles for my squares.

So even though I didn't post this on time for the Diva Slide Show, I still wanted to share it in the middle of the chaos of closing on a house and still battling a cough. I also discovered I relax with free form flowingness (if that makes any sense). I should try to tangle my cough and see what the ends up looking like! Sorry rambling at warp speed starting to set in... Enjoy the Round Squares :)

Earth Day Post Card Swap

Last month I signed up for an Earth Day Post Card Swap hosted by Carolyn Siccama. With buying a new house and having a major head and chest cold this last week I have lost track of time. I am having a hard time knowing what today is!!! Since I was trying to sleep with a heating pad on my chest to help break up the phlegm in my chest and my bulldog decided he wanted to be a brat, I got up and decided to finish my last post card; sure as heck that little dickens immediately laid down on my heating pad and wouldn't budge! That's a bulldog for ya. Good news is I am only one day late for mailing them out.

Of course there always has to be a black sheep in the family and I am sure you will immediately see which one it is. It was actually the second one I did. The first one I did I really didn't like it and didn't feel fair if it would have gone out. I liked how the 3rd and 4th ones came out and decided to duplicate that one - they reminded me of an Earth Day Painter's Pallet.

Both of the above use Emingle, Aura Leah, Raddox, Tripoli, and Hi-C's (EARTH)

Again, the top one uses Emingle and Enyshou, Aura Leah, Raddox and River Stones, Tripoli, Hi-C's and Hibred. The bottom  uses Embellish, Erbluehen, Angel Fish, Revel, Tipple, Tra-La-La, and Hibred.

Hope you enjoy them!
